Track Description:
The only new circuit on the 2009 calendar, Yas Island will host the final round of the world championship on the brand new circuit built especially for Formula 1. Featuring nine right handers and eleven left turns, the 3.451 mile circuit will be one of the few to run in an anti-clockwise direction, along with Istanbul, Interlagos and Singapore. Designed by architect Hermann Tilke, the circuit also features a marina capable of catering for any yachts that the Formula 1 top brass care to bring. Should they get fed up of it, the five-star, 500-room Yas Marina hotel will give them somewhere to sleep on dry land.
