Track Description:
One of the best circuits on the calendar, Suzuka first appeared in 1987, and was lauded for its sweeping corners, particularly in the first part of the lap, as well as the fearsome 130R corner, which was a flat-out left hander with no runoff. That corner was eased in 2003 after Allan McNish demolished the barriers in a qualifying crash, and the whole circuit slipped off the calendar after 2006 in favor of the Fuji Speedway, but despite the withdrawal of circuit owners Honda from the F1 field, their circuit returns in 2009.
