BIO:Sebastian Vettel became the third driver for the BMW Sauber Formula One team starting with the 2006 Turkish Grand Prix onwards. By taking part in Friday practice for the 2006 Turkish Grand Prix, Sebastian became the youngest ever Formula One driver to drive at a Grand Prix event, at 19 years and 53 days. (Mike Thackwell remains the youngest driver to compete in a championship Grand Prix race; Nico Rosberg the youngest to drive an F1 car in private testing). Vettel also became the quickest driver to get a fine in F1, being fined $1,000 nine seconds into his career, after speeding in the pit lane.

His records continued in 2007 when he becomes Formula One’s youngest point scorer when he stands in for BMW's Robert Kubica at Indy, finishing eighth. Secures full-time Toro Rosso race seat starting at the Hungarian Grand Prix in August and earns the team their best result to date with a fourth place in China.

In 2008, his first full season in Formula One he becomes the sport's youngest winner with an amazing wet-weather victory at Monza. Finishes eighth overall with 35 points and rewarded with a switch from Toro Rosso to Red Bull's 'senior' RBR team for 2009. Continues his impressive progress in 2009 as he scores Red Bull Racing's first pole and victory in China, before winning again at Silverstone and Suzuka. A final victory at the season-ending inaugural Abu Dhabi Grand Prix helps him clinch second in the drivers' championship and assured him a spot in 2010. That year, he went on to claim his first Formula One World Championship.
