BIO:Carmichael, also known as the “G.O.A.T.” (Greatest Of All Time), began racing Motocross in 1997 for Kawasaki team on the Split Fire Pro Circuit. He excelled outdoors, earning his first victory against the defending champion and taking the overall title his rookie year. In 1998, he won all eight main events in the 125 East Region as well as the East/West shootout and defended his title. In 1999, he went to the 250 class but had to take some time off after a bad crash. He stayed in the 125 class outdoors and took his third title in a row. 2000 saw Carmichael in the 250 class full time, earning his first win at Daytona and finished fifth in the standings. He won the outdoor championship in his first year. In 2001, Carmichael won 13 of 15 races, took the championship and took the outdoor championship – again. In 2002, Carmichael switched to Honda and despite an early setback, he won 11 of 16 races and the Supercross title. Also in 2002, he won all 24 moto races – something never done before and thought impossible by all. 2003 saw Carmichael winning both Supercross and National titles (seven wins indoors and nine outdoors). He did not participate in the 2004 supercross season due to an injury but competed in the motocross season, earning his second straight perfect season. In 2005, Carmichael had competition in a few newcomers but it didn’t stop the G.O.A.T. from getting another supercross title and taking the outdoor title, winning 22 of 24 races. On top of that, he earned a US Open of Supercross title, helping lead Team USA to a victory at the Motocross Des Nations. 2006 saw the first real competition for Carmichael in the Supercross season, where he earned yet another title (his fifth) with six victories. He also announced his retirement. Outdoors, he dominated and took the title, despite crashing in the final race and injuring his shoulder. In 2007, he ran a partial schedule for Team Makita Suzuki while pursuing a new career in stock car racing. He won every race he entered still and earned a Gold medal at the X-Games as well as another victory with Team USA at the Motocross of Nations. On the stock car side of his career, he signed a driver development contract with Ginn Racing (which merged with DEI), being mentored by Mark Martin. Along with his sponsor – Monster Energy – he drove in the Toyota All-Star Showdown and in 2009, drove for KHI in the NCWTS in a partial schedule. In 2010, Carmichael went to Turner Motorsports, where he ran a full NCWTS schedule and made his debut in the Nationwide Series. In 2011, he remained in the NCWTS full time and was announced as one of the part-time drivers of their No. 30 Nationwide car.
